Old coffee grounds? Here’s how to use them in three easy steps to nourish your body.

After your morning brew (we can’t go past our Moccamaster), instead of ditching the fresh ground coffee why not recycle it and make it into a nourishing and natural body scrub. If you’ve been following us for a while now you will know our obsession for our Margaret River Roasting ground coffee and along with our Moccamaster…it’s a match made in heaven.

Hand made in the Netherlands, this machine is filter coffee perfection, a gentle brewing method – it brings out the true character and clarity of coffee. The result is smooth and full flavoured.

No day starts without a fresh cup of coffee from our Moccamaster, better yet it makes a jug and keeps it warm so when you get back from dropping the kids off or running in between meetings, it’ll be there waiting. As it’s a filter coffee machine, you have to use ground coffee which means you have left used coffee granules each go. Instead of throwing them away, we have an amazing coffee scrub which can help smooth skin, reduce cellulite, improve circulation and add hydration to your skin..amazing!

With a few pantry staples like brown sugar, coconut oil and vanilla extract, this can be whipped up in under 5 minutes and last you ages!

What you need for this scrub (you’ll memorise this in no time..and can easily double it);

  • ½ of ground coffee
  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Method

  • Melt the coconut oil
  • Add it to a bowl with the rest of the ingredients and mix
  • Place it in a jar and scoop it out when you’re next having a shower or bath and dead skin be gone!!

We would love it if you could give this a go for yourself and tag us at @rayneellaperth.
