What to look for when considering getting your eyebrows tattooed
Beauty Editor: Amelia Johnson
We all love a good brow. There’s no denying what a wax and tint can do for your face and once mastered, it’s an essential step of our makeup routine. How about saying goodbye to filling in the brows on the daily and hello to long-lasting, thick, full and natural brows all the time. All you need is a little help from a friend of ours.
Eyebrow tattooing achieves bolder brows with fine strokes of pigment delivered via micro-blades to resemble the look and texture of actual hair. Its popularity is on the rise and for good reason! It seems that anything that can gain us a little time in our busy schedule we are grabbing with both hands and running with it. The major benefits of micro-blading your eyebrows are:
- Low maintenance but effective results
- Finished result
- Price point (depending on how often you are getting them groomed)
Like any other semi-permanent treatment to our delicate skin, you have to make sure you’re dealing with professionals, getting value for money and most importantly using the best products available. After all, semi-permanent whoopsies should always try to be avoided.
We’ve been going to Alison Jade Brows for quite a few years now, one of the few specialists in the brow game that have mastered the art of eyebrow grooming in Perth. We can highly recommend.
Considering having your eyebrows tattooed? Here’s our list of top things to look for when considering getting your brows done.
Research, research, research
Whether it’s a quick Google search or a good old Instagram stalk, make sure you do your research. How long have they been in the industry for, what are their qualifications, does the salon seem busy?
Word of mouth
Even though it’s 2020 and people are relying heavily on social media, nothing beats old school word of mouth. Ask around! Ask lots of questions about their experience and they might be able to guide you in the right direction.
Have look at their portfolio
You can easily check out their website, Instagram feed or Facebook to look at their all work, not only for their eyebrow tattooing but also for the other services they may specialise in..eyelashes, fillers, waxing etc. This way you’ll be able to get an overall feel of their experience and where exactly lies their area of expertise.
Before and afters
When considering getting your eyebrows tattooed make sure to check out before and after photos, they give a great representation of the type of work the specialist does and also what you can expect…which leads us to our last point.
Make sure you like their work as therapists can have different styles
Like anything, people have different preferences and what you might love, they might think something else suits your face. Do you go with what you like, or do you trust the shape of your brows to the therapist? It’s a tough one. Keep an eye out for the therapists type of style, maybe they love big bold brows and you’d rather a more natural approach. By figuring out what their type of work is and what you’re hoping to achieve, this should guide you in the right place. Here is a little diagram to emphasis what we are talking about.
Whether it’s something you’ve been thinking about for a while or you’ve woken up and had enough of colouring in one of the most important features on your face once again, we hope we have been able to shed some light on all things to do with eyebrow tattooing.
