10 of our favourite restaurants which are supporting WA this month with a feature dish sat to get the taste buds watering and the wallet thanking you.
WA is home to ingredients in a world of their own. To celebrate our incredible produce, select venues will be plating up WA-inspired dishes throughout June. So, to get a taste for the homegrown, support local and visit some Perth restaurants who are showcasing WA’s local produce, all the way from Albany down in our South to Broome in our north.
I’m all about shopping local and being a regular visitor up North to places like Carnarvon and Broome, I want everyone else to celebrate the great fruit and veg our farmers work tirelessly for and really celebrate farm to plate. We’re letting you in on 10 of our favourite restaurants which also happen to be highlighting a meal to support Plating Up WA throughout June. Whether you want a new place for date night or want to explore Perth’s best, either way, you can buy west and eat best!
Amelia Park Restaurant
One of Perth people’s most loved towns, Margaret River, this restaurant has incredible vineyard views, sensational food and an extensive range of wine. From Fremantle octopus to Manjimup pastrami, if you’re visiting the South West soon make sure to add this to your list.
Cook & Mason
Located in iconic East Fremantle, this place focuses on high quality, seasonal and locally sourced produce. With this sharing inspired menu, their ingredients are ethically and sustainably sourced from WA’s best farmers and growers. Dinner or lunch? Give them a try!
Manuka Woodfired Kitchen
Having recently visited for a Friday dinner, it didn’t disappoint! Soulful, delicious and fresh, Manuka offer pizzas, slow-cooked meats, seasonal fruit and veg all sourced from WA. Cooked in the woodfire makes this place one to remember.
Must Wine Bar
In the heart of buzzing Beaufort Street provides a slice of Paris. Their French provincial inspired food means you’ll have a selection of wine, food, tapas and a great atmosphere each time you visit. Their dish for June is chargrilled Abrolhos Islands octopus, muhammara, bravo apple and roast potato whip.
Nic & Kolo
Fully licensed award-winning café in Applecross, Nic & Kolo showcases WA produce in a delicious and contemporary Australian menu. Their sophistication is felt from the moment you walk in with the atmosphere to the food and service. Their June dish showcases WA pork belly, always a favourite!
Perth’s renowned beachfront restaurant open for your breakfast cravings up until dinner is known for their exceptional WA produce. Serving a seasonal Modern Australian menu packed full of flavour, you know you’re supporting the farmers. If you haven’t checked it out yet we highly suggest you do, with views of the beach why wouldn’t you!
Rustic, quirky, fun AND delicious are just a few words to describe this gorgeous restaurant. Designed to share, their menu has something for everyone along with a great wine list and elegant interiors. Their June dish is Fremantle octopus (we have a recurring theme here) with chorizo and whipped cod roe.
Simple and fresh ingredients paired with wine and good company are only one of the reasons this place is packed and located in the heart of Leederville. Their Spanish food highlights WA produce, great when it’s featured in tapas!
The Shoe Bar
Located in newly opened Yagan Square in the middle of the City, this place offers great drinks after work or on a Friday along with classic pub food made to share..or not. They’re supporting Plating up WA by serving up half of a WA rock lobster with chips, salad AND a glass of Deep Woods wine! Oh, and their wine list is uniquely West Australian!
Last but not least this place has thought long and hard about their menu and features local and fresh dishes, to give you an experience you won’t forget! Even better, their dish for the month is a dessert; Mont Blanc chestnuts, chocolate, hazelnuts and rum. Yes, please!! You can find them along the Esplanade.
