Perth’s stunning winters don’t come bearing snow and blizzards so when someone is willing to put an ice rink right in our backyard you already know we will all be rushing to check it out. Snow and ice are being brought to us right here in Fremantle.
Returning to Fremantle yet again, Winterworld is coming. Jam-packed with ice-skating, silent disco’s, kids shows and arts and crafts, head down with your friends, family, partner or kids as there are activities suited for everyone.
Fremantle Esplanade will be filled with Australia’s largest open-air ice skating rink. There will be falling ‘snow’ and the opportunity to build a snowman in the real snow pit. Cap the fun off with a Synergy power slide, art activities, FREE circus workshops and the opportunity to get festive with the Freedom Fairy face painters.
If you’re after more of a chilled vibe, you can Relax inside The National Hotel’s cosy Cabin Bar sipping on mulled wine and warm winter beverages as you have front row views of the rink and Freo’s famous Norfolk pines. Explore the Market Square with local producers and food stalls serving heart-warming delicacies from across the globe. Grab a spot and roast a marshmallow around the blazing fire pits which are scattered throughout the themed outdoor area or get warm in the popular Winter Lounge with soft rugs, comfy couches and inviting tunes.
The skating runs into the evening and all week long, sessions are a generous hour with 100% forecast of snow. Winterworld kicks off on 29 June for three weeks and sessions sell out fast so pick your day and get in quick.
