Reiki
by Rayne Bryant
Recently self-awareness, journaling, gratitude lists, the law of attraction, spirituality and meditation have really come to centre stage. Whether it’s with the top trending podcasts, YouTube videos or influencers videoing their morning routines, it’s come to worldly attention that there is an energy of curiosity amongst people and people are wanting more.
So many of us no longer want to sit back anxious and unhappy in certain areas of their life, people are looking for answers, they are wanting self-awareness and they are ready for growth.
With different religions, meditations techniques and modalities of healing, there’s many ways one can look into themselves to heal or treat emotional states. I am a lover of Reiki and here’s why.
Reiki is a form of healing synonymous with traditional Japanese culture. It heals through touch, using a vibrational energy to treat the person. Whilst western cultures understanding of healing relies on intellect or academic learning, Eastern cultures are a lot more attuned to the spiritual empowerments of energy healing. They believe that we all have an existing energy channel within us and it’s when this energy channel is out of balance or ‘not in tune’ that we become sick, stressed, anxious or just plain stuck.
Reiki as a healing technique is over a thousand years old. It is an understanding that there is a higher connection, universal wisdom that is there for us as guidance. This guidance flows though the life force energy that is in every living thing – plants, animal and people.
A little bit woo-woo you think? Bare with me. You might find it interesting to know that some of the world’s leading scientists studying quantum physics are now holding proof that the energy life force is in fact there and has an effect on everything we do, feel and believe. The question is no longer if you believe in it or not, the question is are you aware and using it. Read up here; Dr Joe Dispenza talks the science behind our energy field and what we can do to master our own.
Not only is Reiki a tool for healing you physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, but Reiki is also used as a tool for self-development, growth and awareness.
It is also said to induce deep relaxation, help people cope with difficulties, relieve emotional stress, and improve overall wellbeing. People who receive Reiki describe it as “intensely relaxing and clearing.”
I have consistently been receiving Reiki therapy for over 12 years. I can put my hand on my heart and tell you that it’s been the reason I am who I am today. It has pulled me through some very dark times and always given me a sense of hope and guidance. Whilst some reach for a therapist, I reached for Reiki. I was so astounded by the gift or acknowledgement and peace that reiki gave me that I needed to know more. In 2009 I completed my Reiki 1 certificate and in 2016 and again in 2019 I completed my Reiki 2 which has now fully qualified me as a practitioner.
I will be giving 15 minute Reiki healing sessions at the Perth Vitality Festival on March 6th. If you are interested, please come down and say hi. I would love to connect with you and share this modality of healing.
There is no denying there is a universal knowledge and power that runs through every living thing. It’s no longer a matter of whether you believe in it or not, it’s whether you want to harnes it and let it be part of your daily life.
